Tax Preparer
Newport News Virginia 23606
I served in the Air Force Veteran for 20 years in the field of Logistics. I learned a lot in my military career and when it was over I searched for that next career - one that I could work at that would help/serve people. I had the education in the areas of Management (B.S. degree) and also completed an MBA in Management. I later found that my attention to details was instrumental in the area of accounting and this help me pursue this field. As was mentioned under my business details, I began this business after spending a couple of years in a CPA practice and learning various details about taxes, tax returns and accounting. My focus when I began the business was to provide a "quality product" (tax return, monthly report, etc) and a competitive price to the client. I still strive for the same quality in what I do but I also bring a wealth of knowledge to individuals and business clients that is a "value added" to the client and worth an additional cost to ensure they have well prepared products.
To avoid misunderstanding, I am not a CPA and am working to be certified as an Enrolled Agent (that is on-going). So I do the annual continuing education and testing certification to prepare taxes, as well keeping my QuickBooks ProAdvisor certification.
Additionally, I have been active in a local church all my life and this is another aspect that drives me to "do the right thing" for my clients. This applies not only to the work I do for them but also in my dealings with them in a friendly, respectful way.
Finally, to take care of myself I continue to challenge myself with various running events usually at the 10K to half marathon (13.1 mile) distance. And I have also trained for triathlons over the last four years and enjoy the variety it brings to my health and well-being. These competitions are fun and it is fun to share the experiences with other dedicated athletes.
